Every year, on the first day of school, each class of my students engages in a tower building contest. It’s not just about which group can build the tallest tower, however. Team-building, class-building, strategy, and meta-analysis of strengths and areas for improvement stand as the hallmarks of this opening event. A great way to open the year, and it’s just plain fun! This is the commencement.
