ABOUT TIM

Tim DuceyBorn and raised in California’s Central Valley and having lived and traveled throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan, Tim Ducey combines a small-town sensibility with an awareness, understanding, and wonder of the world.  It is this duality of experience that Tim brings to all situations — teaching students, meeting new people, analyzing a business or education challenge, working with a client, jogging the great hills of San Francisco — and such a duality serves as a superb rock in guiding Tim to passionately and effectively meet every challenge he faces.  An Eagle Scout, a 2004 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and a 2013 Master of Arts in Teaching graduate from Bard College, Tim is a teacher, writer, and advocate, working everyday to ensure the well-being of others while simultaneously seeking to enjoy all life has to offer.  Of all of these, however, it is teaching that most drives Tim.  Working to help all students of diverse backgrounds achieve their dreams is Tim’s calling, his vocation in life.  This passion for teaching has taken Tim to New Orleans, Osaka and Kobe, Japan, San Francisco, and Tulare, California, and each stop along the way has presented new challenges and exciting adventures, all in the mission  of helping students grow and continually better themselves, both as writers and thinkers and as people.  Beyond the classroom, Tim can be found running the streets of his hometown, Visalia, CA, embarking on road-trips throughout the West, chasing his daughters around the house,  hiking the Sierras, and cooking up some damn good pasta!  Chao!
